Living Landscapes

Here is an example of a project Living Landscapes has recently completed:-

Client:
Mr and Mrs N
Waterlooville
Hants

Client Brief
To, create a garden utilising the space for both the children and the adults.

Children:
Create a useable, level space for the children to play in within a safe environment.

Adults:
Create an entertaining area to be able to dine, with ambient lighting and planting to give an effect of the Mediterranean.
Incorporate a hot tub within the entertaining area.

Garden Condition:
Very overgrown with shrubs and conifers.
Lack of light to the conservatory
Very steep slope away from the property approx. 2m from the conservatory.
Heavy clay soil conditions.

Weather conditions and duration of works:
Heavy rain, showers and cloudy.
Four weeks

Final Outcome:

  • Removal of all of the overgrown shrubs and conifers to create extra light and space.
  • Construction of a retaining wall further out into the garden to raise the levels and create a level area for the lawn.
  • Construction of sleeper steps to allow access to the lower terrace and to the children’s play house that has now been rescued from the undergrowth.
  • Construction of a hardwood timber deck large enough for a large table with 6 chairs for dining. The timber used within this deck and handrail system was Indonesian Balau.
  • The addition of a hot tub with access from the deck.
  • Installation of LED deck lighting around the deck and up lighters highlighting the main palms and trees in the rear of the garden.
